According to recent reports, a group of 15 states have come together to file a lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The suit is meant to stop regulations that would kill jobs, negatively affect the energy industry, and grant the EPA a dangerous amount of power.
So far, the states opposing the new regulation include: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Virginia, Louisiana, Kentucky, Nebraska, Michigan, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Ohio, Wyoming and Wisconsin.
“With this rule, the EPA is attempting to transform itself from an environmental regulator to a central planning agency for states’ energy economies,” West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey claimed in a statement regarding the suit. “If the administration drags its feet, at the expense of the states and their citizens, the courts should grant us relief from a burdensome situation created by EPA’s highly unusual approach here.”
What do you think? Do you oppose the new regulation?
